Wind is gradually relaxing along the coast and across our western valleys, but we're still observing some decent wind gusts. High wind warnings and wind advisories have expired, and the wind should continue to back off later today and tonight. However, heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected (on and off) for the remainder of the day, so keep the jackets handy. Temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 50s.
Wet weather carries into Tuesday and at least Wednesday morning before we potentially get a break. The back half of Wednesday and the first half of Thursday should feature mainly dry weather. The warmest day of the week will be Thursday with highs in the low to mid 60s.
A weak to moderate atmospheric river is expected to slowly move through our region late Thursday into Friday, bringing additional rain and high elevation snow. High pressure will dry us out toward the end of the workweek.
Most signs are pointing to a cool, mostly dry holiday weekend. We'll let you know if that changes, but Halloween evening could very well be dry for the kiddos.
