Tyler Dumont is a general assignment reporter for FOX 12’s Emmy Award winning Good Day Oregon.
Tyler is a Boston area native and moved to the West Coast to join the FOX 12 team in February 2018.
Prior to FOX 12, Tyler worked as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor at WCAX-TV in Burlington, Vermont and NH1 News Network in Concord, New Hampshire. He also worked at several newspapers and radio stations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont.
While in New Hampshire, Tyler had a front-row seat to the 2016 presidential election and interviewed nearly every candidate. In Vermont, he broke the story of a medical spa that suddenly closed and left dozens of customers out of thousands of dollars. His story sparked an attorney general investigation and later led to a settlement. He also covered immigration issues along the U.S.-Canada border.
As a teenager, in his “younger” TV career, Tyler was a Boston-based correspondent and anchor for the nationally syndicated show, Teen Kids News. While working for the educational program, Tyler won a New York Emmy award and received three other Emmy nominations for his work.
When he is not on the ground chasing the top story of the day for FOX 12, Tyler is up in the air flying in a single-engine airplane. Flying for fun was a longtime desire, and Tyler decided after moving to Oregon that it was the right time to begin working towards his private pilot’s certificate.
Tyler is also the doggy dad to “Harvey”, an energetic Border Collie-Kelpie who is always up for a run or trip to the park!
While he may always be a New England boy at heart, Tyler has loved the less brutal winters of the Pacific Northwest. He has also come to truly appreciate and respect the local coffee scene (and after waking up at 3 a.m., he sure needs it!) Tyler also loves to explore new food scenes, travel, hike, 1960s music and Netflix.
