(Meredith) -- A 15-year-old boy is facing murder charges after police say he confessed to killing his mother following an argument over grades.
Volusia County Sheriff's Office detectives obtained a full and detailed confession from Gregory Logan Ramos. Police say he confessed to strangling and killing his 46-year-old mother Gail Cleavenger.
Authorities say the incident took place in the family's home late Thursday night after the two allegedly argued over his grades, WESH reports. He admitted to using a wheelbarrow to load her into her van and burying her beneath a fire pit at a Florida church.
Authorities began to investigate after they received a 911 call the next day of a reported burglary, discovered by 15-year-old Ramos when he came home from school.
He told police his mom was missing and her van was still running in the driveway.
According to detectives, he later confessed to receiving help from teenage friends to stage a burglary scene at their house.
Deputies say after an a couple hours of questioning the teen seemed unapologetic and even proud of his plot.
"No sign of remorse whatsoever, he was a souless individual who though he was the smartest person in the room," said Sheriff Mike Chitwood. "He also stated to us, that he believes he deserved a Grammy for the way he performed with the 911 call."
Seventeen-year-old Dylan Ceglarek and Brian Porras are also in custody and facing multiple criminal charges.
