(KFDM/CNN/Meredith) -- A tragic accident took the lives of a young married couple only minutes after saying their vows.

Groom Harley Joe Morgan, 19, and bride Rhiannon Marie Morgan, 20, left a Texas courtroom Friday afternoon after saying their wedding vows. As they were pulling out of the courtroom parking lot, their car collided with a pickup truck.

Family members said Harley and Rhiannon were not even married for five minutes before they were killed.

The wedding took place at the Orange County Justice of the Peace precinct three. Orange County is about an hour and a half east of Houston near the Louisiana border.

The groom’s mother and sister were close behind and saw the collision.

Harley’s mom told KFDM she’ll always be haunted by the accident that happened in front of her eyes. The couple died at the scene.

“I watched my baby die,” Kennia Morgan told KFDM. “I’m still wearing my son’s blood because I was trying my best to rip him and her out of the car.”

Harley and Rhiannon were high school sweethearts. They had future plans for a larger wedding celebration -- they wanted a Christmas wedding on December 20, Harley’s mom said.

No one else was injured in the accident, including the driver of the pickup truck.
