14 years later: Investigation into disappearance of Kyron Horman continues
MULTNOMAH COUNTY, Ore. (KPTV) - Tuesday marks 14 years since Kyron Horman disappeared from his elementary school in northwest Portland.
Kyron was last seen at Skyline Elementary School on the morning of June 4, 2010, attending his school’s science fair. He was 7 years old at the time.
This past weekend, his family and community held their yearly car wash in Beaverton at Les Schwab on Southwest Walker Road to raise money for future searches and potentially hire a private investigator.
Desiree Young, Kyron’s mother, said that while she is optimistic that this year could be different - it’s still hard.
“It’s very challenging to know that we’re here 14 years now,” Young said. “I truly believed that it would be solved and we would have Kyron home within a week, you know. It’s not a stranger that took Kyron, we know what happened, for the most part. So it is a little disappointing that we’re here 14 years later. I don’t want to be here another year but I say that every year, but the clock still ticking through.”

He has brown hair, blue eyes and wears glasses. He has a distinct V-shaped strawberry birthmark on his forehead.
A $50,000 reward is available for information leading to the resolution of Kyron’s disappearance.
