Gresham police release new video in search for leads in unsolved 2020 homicide

GRESHAM, Ore. (KPTV) - Gresham police shared never-before-seen footage on Wednesday of the suspect vehicle in an unsolved 2020 homicide.

The release came during a joint press conference with the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office marking six years since Darryl Lewis’ death.

On the evening of Oct. 14, 2020, Darryl Lewis, 34, and Daquon Warren, then 21, were shot shortly after pulling up to a pump at the Gresham ARCO gas station near Southeast 181st and East Burnside.

The newly released video from that night shows a dark sedan arriving at the gas station. According to investigators, a passenger got out of the suspect vehicle and opened fire, wounding Warren and Lewis as they sat in their car.

Warren survived his injuries. Lewis later died at the hospital from a gunshot wound to the head.

The suspect fled toward Portland. Six years later, no arrests have been made.

“Now is the time to get justice for Darryl Lewis and Daquon Warren. Now is the time to bring justice to Darryl’s family,” said Gresham Police Chief Travis Gullberg.

During the news conference, Lewis’ family made another public plea for information that could lead to the identification of his killer.

Lewis left behind five children.

“He loved his children, he loved his family, he would give his last for anybody,” said Angelique Croxton, Lewis’ mother. “All we’re asking is that someone just calls in a tip.”
