Beaverton Police seek help finding two men who did not return from trip

BEAVERTON, Ore. (KPTV) - The Beaverton Police Department is asking for the public’s help finding two men who did not return from a trip last month.

Eddie Curtis Hair, 67, and Scott Jon Smith, 68, have been missing since Sept. 13.

Police said the two friends were last believed to be preparing for an outdoor trip involving camping, hiking, or searching for rare rocks. But it’s not known exactly where they were going.

The two men, who often travel to either the Oregon coast or central Oregon, were last known to be traveling in a 2005 red Jeep Wrangler with Oregon license plate 494QKW.

According to police, there is no indication of foul play in their disappearance but their extended absence is unusual and concerning.

Anyone with information about their whereabouts or may have seen the red Jeep Wrangler should contact Detective Dan Maurer with the Beaverton Police Department at 503-526-2280.
