TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News/Gray News) - Authorities said Wednesday a pair of black gloves with DNA evidence found near Nancy Guthrie’s home are likely not connected to her disappearance.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said the DNA from the gloves, recovered about two miles from the crime scene, was traced back to a person who works at a restaurant in the area.

The sheriff’s department added that that the worker “is not considered part of this investigation.”

The specific gloves were among the 16 pairs found during the investigation. The sheriff’s department previously said almost all of those gloves were traced back to searchers.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department previously said the DNA from the gloves did not match samples taken from Nancy Guthrie’s home and the FBI confirmed the results did not match anyone in its database.

Labs are still working on other DNA evidence in the case, the sheriff’s department said Wednesday.

Nancy Guthrie was last seen at her home on Jan. 31.

Savannah Guthrie, the NBC anchor and host of “Today,” joined her siblings on Monday outside of their mother’s home.
