Albany man sentenced for child sex abuse material possession while on probation
EUGENE, Ore. (KPTV) - An Albany man was sentenced on Tuesday for possession of child pornography while still on probation for a child sexual abuse conviction.
Federal prosecutors say Matthew Lynn Windom, 55, was suspected of possessing and sharing child sexual abuse material on the New Zealand-based platform “Mega” during a multinational investigation.
A search warrant was served at Windom’s home, where investigators reportedly found digital devices and stories about child sex abuse, as well as a duffle bag with children’s underwear inside.
While investigators did not find CSAM on the devices, material was found after a search warrant was executed on one of Windom’s email accounts.
Windom was arrested on Jan, 8, 2025, and later charged with possession of child pornography by a federal grand jury in Eugene.
Windom pleaded guilty on March 10, 2026, according to prosecutors.
A federal judge sentenced Windom to 10 years in federal prison followed by a life term of supervised release.
