PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Portland Timbers reached an agreement on Wednesday to send striker Kevin Kelsy to the Glasgow Rangers.

The Scottish club will pay roughly $13 million (£9.5m) plus add-ons for the 22-year-old. This deal makes Kelsy the most expensive sale in Timbers history and the second-most expensive fee of all time for the Rangers.

Kelsy joined Portland back in January 2025 for just under $6 million from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk. Since then, the Valencia, Venezuela native has scored 16 goals in 43 MLS appearances and is the club’s leading scorer this season.

The Timbers are currently sitting in ninth in the MLS’s Western Conference standings and vying to stay in playoff contention.
