Cheerios teams up with Ziploc to create resealable bags inside cereal boxes (finally)

(Gray News) — It’s been a long time coming: General Mills is introducing the first cereal box that includes a resealable bag.

Say goodbye to folding, rolling or clipping the bag, or even transferring the cereal to an airtight container.

Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios will be available with new packaging that includes a Ziploc PantrySeal™ bag.

General Mills said this marks the first resealable bag inside a traditional cereal box, making it easier to pour and reseal while helping keep cereal fresh longer.

“General Mills has received letters, emails and DMs asking for an easier way to reseal a cereal box, and we decided it was time to partner with the ultimate freshness brand: Ziploc®,” said Emilie Knox, Vice President and Business Unit Director for Cheerios at General Mills. “Cheerios with Ziploc PantrySeal™ takes a small, everyday cereal frustration and finally gives consumers the simple solution they’ve been asking for, making the whole routine easier and more enjoyable.”

The new boxes will be available exclusively at Walmart.com beginning Oct. 27 and will be available at retailers nationwide in the coming months.
