National Wear Red Day: Heart health awareness

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Friday is national Wear Red day, a day dedicated to raising awareness for women’s heart health.
The American Heart Association wanted to bring awareness to the dangers of cardiovascular disease, the current number one killer of women.
When a woman’s heart health is compromised, it’s not always easy for her to get the care she needs. The American Heart Association is working to close that gap through the “Go red for women” movement, which encourages women to advocate for their heart health.
Another way to raise awareness is the Heart and Stroke walk, happening in Vancouver on May 17.
