PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A man known as the “TriMet Barber” was sentenced Friday to 22 years in prison for 30 charges related to filming women in public restrooms in Portland by a Multnomah County Judge.

Jared Walter, a convicted sex offender, became infamous for documented attacks over a decade involving cutting women’s hair and throwing his bodily fluids on them on public transit.

On May 29, 2024, he was found guilty by a Multnomah County jury of 30 counts of invasion of privacy and one count of attempted invasion of privacy, after investigators say he took videos of women in public restrooms in a college and businesses throughout Portland.

In court, prosecutors showed a long list of businesses where Walter is accused of filming women, along with videos showing him going in and out of public restrooms, and in one, he appears to steal a woman’s backpack.

As part of a sentencing agreement on Friday, Walter also pleaded guilty to first-degree theft. A second-degree theft charge was dismissed Friday.

His agreement also included waiving his right to appeal.

The sentence includes credit for time served. Additionally, Walter will also serve two years of probation and be required to register as a sex offender.
