Man guilty of multiple manslaughter charges for deadly head-on crash in Marion Co.

SALEM Ore. (KPTV) - A 29-year-old man was found guilty on Wednesday of multiple charges, including manslaughter for a deadly head-on crash in Marion County last year, the district attorney’s office said.
On Sept. 16, 2024, Quackenbush-Benson drove his truck across the center line and smashed into a truck traveling in the opposite direction. The driver and one passenger died upon impact. Another passenger survived the crash but suffered serious physical injuries. She is still recovering, the DA’s office said.

At the time of the crash, Quakenbush-Benson was under the influence of an inhalant.
A Marion County jury found him guilty of two counts of first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree manslaughter, second and third-degree assault, driving under the influence of intoxicants, and reckless driving.
Quakenbush-Benson is scheduled to be sentenced on May 13.
