Child riding e-scooter hit by car in SE Portland, rushed to hospital

A child riding an e-scooter suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash with a car on Wednesday evening in southeast Portland, according to police.

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A child riding an e-scooter suffered life-threatening injuries in a crash with a car on Wednesday evening in southeast Portland, according to police.

Just after 7:30 p.m., officers with the Portland Police Bureau responded to the area of Southeast 122nd Avenue and Southeast Lincoln Street after reports of the crash.

The child was rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and the driver stayed at the scene, police said.

Police say the child is a 9-year-old boy.

Southeast 122nd Avenue was closed between Sherman and Mill Streets while PPB investigated the crash.
