PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A Vancouver community is left rattled after a popular food truck exploded on Sunday, leaving a family of four severely injured and in the hospital.

“I’m very devastated,” said Monica Nguyen, Owner of Nail & Spa Creation, a business near the 4Camino food truck.

Since the incident, not only is the truck out of service but so are the owners and crew.

“The building kind of shaked and I was like oh my goodness what just happened,” Reshell Douglas the Owner of Not Too Shabby.

Douglas bordered the parking lot where the explosion took place on Sunday and said it was a “terrible accident”.

According to the family, propane exploded in the food truck by accident.

“They were inside of the trailer when it happened, everyone is inside,” said Christian Barrios. “We tried to help as much we could, we couldn’t do much.”

The explosion injured the owner of 4Caminos, her team, and the owner’s young son.

Christian Barrios, owner of the La Casita Art Gallery & Cultural Center, saw the blast and said he won’t forget seeing the owner’s son in pain.

“He was screaming, and he was in pain too, and maybe because he was in shock of everything happening really fast,” said Barrios. “It was really painful to see them in that situation,”

Barrios has placed a painting of the owner in his business during this time.

“She’s always here, she’s willing to help, she’s willing to help people,” said Barrios.

Many also say they are praying for the family’s speedy recovery.

“I just hope that the family is doing well and that they’ll be back with us,” said Nguyen.

In honor of the family, Barrios says the La Casita Art Gallery & Cultural Center will host an event on First Friday and the proceeds will go to the family’s recovery needs.

Friends and family have set up an online fundraiser to cover medical expenses.
