58-year-old man faces charges after standoff closed I-5 South in Vancouver
VANCOUVER Wash. (KPTV) - A 58-year-old man was arrested on Saturday evening after a standoff closed southbound lanes on Interstate 5 in Vancouver for more than an hour, according to police.

Around 2:30 p.m., officers with the Vancouver Police Department were sent to The Hudson apartments on East 13th Street after a resident reported that one of their neighbors had pointed a gun at them and then returned to his apartment.
Tactical police units were sent to the area and tried to contact the suspect, later identified as Terry Meyers.
Around 5:30 p.m., authorities warned drivers that I-5 South, which was right next to the apartments, was closed while officers tried to contact Meyers.

At about 7 p.m., tactical police units took Meyers into custody, and the freeway was reopened.
Police said they searched Meyers’ apartment and found “multiple” guns.
Meyers was booked into the Clark County Jail for two counts of second-degree assault and third-degree assault.
