Portland City Bike Bus returns for Earth Day
PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) - The City Bike Bus returned to Portland streets in time for Earth Day, with rain failing to deter cyclists from taking part in the monthly ride.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation organized the event, which started at nine spots throughout the city. Cyclists could start at one of the starting points or join in along the route.
Wednesday’s event kicks off City Bike Bus 2026, giving adults a chance to participate in the group cycling event.
One Portlander joined in for the first time, while another said they make it a monthly event.
“It was good. Wish it was little bit sunnier… we get to school and work one way or the other,” one cyclist said.
Another participant said it was a “beautiful morning.”
“Of course it had to rain. But it’s not Portland without a little rain and bike bus is willing to plow through it,” they said.
